A lovely song in the tradition of Rabindranath Tagore’s aesthetism and sensitivity, brought out exceedingly well in Mahadevan’s music and P. Suseela’s voice.
"Who taught this plant and its every twig to give me these flowers?"
Who else could it be! It is Krishna Sastri's tireless groundskeeper, same as Tagore's "Gardener", and Jayadeva's Vanamali.
"And with such a haste to pray the Lord, and to deliver them before the dawn!"
Tulasi, the plant of Mercy and Health, rules the courtyard, had already arrived.
Ms Jasmine brought flowers for Mrs Vara Lakshmi. And ofcourse, offering those jasmines bring treasures to her husband.
(mallelu are jasmine flowers and mollalu are treasures of wealth.)
"How do I serve you, How do I praise you, I can only make my heart your throne".
Aasanam Samarpayami!!
"I place a flower at your feet, a lamp at your side, and humbly bow in front of you.
This is my prayer to thee my Lord!"
